Producer: An iconic family estate in Barbaresco, founded by Luigi Minuto in 1913, passed down through generations, ‘Lusin’ means small Luigi. Today Cascina Luisin is run by Roberto Minuto, a trained oenologist, producing expressive, traditional wines from some of Barbaresco’s greatest sites, mostly older vineyards planted to 50% Nebbiolo.
Place: Situated in the Rabaja area in the territory of Barbaresco, northwest Italy’s Piedmont region.
Farming: Low impact farming, organic practices.
Varietal: Nebbiolo from a cool & elevated plot in Neive.
Soil: Sandy soils
Winemaking: Long fermentation & maceration in concrete vats followed by 30 month maturation in Slavonian barrel.
