2022 Margerum, 'M5' Rhone Blend, Santa Barbara County, CA

Producer: Doug Margerum established Margerum Wine Company in 2001, after being a successful restaurateur & Vinter in Santa Barbara for some time. The 18 acre Estate Vineyard is planted exclusively to Rhone grape varietals. The company produces wines made from grapes from the estate vineyard as well as purchased grapes from growers around Santa Barbara County, with a goal to make hand crafted  table wines ‘high acidity, low alcohol wines that add a punch’.

Place: The estate is located in Buellton, in the Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Barbara County CA.

Cultivation: Organic & Sustainable practices.

Varietal: Grenache 49%, Syrah 31%, Mourvèdre 10%, Counoise 5%, Cinsault 5% - from 13 vineyard sites in Santa Ynez Valley, Los Olivos District, Santa Rita Hills, Happy Canyon Santa Barbara.

Bottling: M5 stands for Margerum & the 5 grapes that it is composed of, This is the Company’s flagship wine, a Grenache based southern Rhone blend from Santa Barbara CA.

Winemaking: Each Varietal is pressed, fermented & aged for 10 months in oak barrels- seasoned & neutral.
