2022 Ceritas, Chardonnay 'Carex', Sonoma County, CA, USA

Producer: John Raytek with his wife Phoebe Bass, founded Ceritas in 2005, focusing on individual sites from the the cool, coastal regions of West Coast Sonoma county & Santa Cruz mountains. They work with grower partners that share a commitment to organic & sustainable farming methods. 

Place: The Winery is located in Healdsburg - the grapes come from DuMols GVR estate vineyard, in the coldest part of Green Valley, Sonoma Coast AVA.

Cultivation: Practicing Organic, Biodynamic

Varietal: Chardonnay - from a vineyard planted in 2004 ‘using a unique selection of old Wente Chardonnay, renowned for producing tiny clusters of Zippy Chardonnay’

Soil: Sandstone soils

Winemaking: Hand-harvest, whole cluster pressed, aged in barrel for 12 months on gross lees, rested in stainless steel for an additional 3-6 months prior to bottling.
