Producer: The estate was founded in 2002 by Aurelio Montes, owner of Chilean winery Bodegas Montes. Kaiken is a play on Caiquen, a wild goose from Patagonia that flies across the Andes between Chile & Argentina, a nod to the founder, who made several trips from Chile to Argentina before creating the Kaiken winery.

Place: In the district of Vistalba, in the heart of Lujan de Cuyo’s Mendoza, Argentina.

Farming: Certified sustainable & vegan.

Varietal: Malbec from 3 terroirs in the Uco Valley: Los Chacayes, Altamira & Gualtallary.

Winemaking: 7 day maceration, fermented in concrete tanks, post-fermentation maceration for 20 days, aging in french oak barrels for a year, rested in  the bottle for  6 months before release.

Tasting Notes: Structured – Black & Blue Fruit – Smooth Tannins
