Producer: A family run estate founded by Wilhem Walch, of Austrian origin in 1869. Elena, an architect by trade, married Warner Walch & became part of the wine family, leading the wine estate, creating terroir driven wines of precision & minerality. Today the 5th generation, daughters Julia & Karoline are running the estate with their mother.
Place: The winery is located in the wine village of Tramin, the estate holdings are 90 hectares of vines including 2 Vigna classified single vineyards: Kastelaz in Tramin & Castel Ringberg in Caldaro, in the Alto Adige region of north east Italy.
