2022 Velenosi, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico, Marche, Italy

Producer: Cantina Velenosi, a family run winery established in 1984 by 2 young entrepreneurs, Ercole & Angela Velenosi, joined by Paolo Garbini in 2005. The winery combines tradition with modern technologies & owns vineyards in diverse terroirs of the Marche, working primarily with traditional grapes of the region.

Place: The estate is located on the outskirts of Ascoli Piceno, just 25 km from the Adriatic Sea in the Marche, on the eastern coast of central Italy.

Bottling: Dei Castelli di Jesi (‘of the castles of Jesi’) DOC,  established in 1968, 18 hilltop communities surrounding the town of Jesi make up the Verdicchio Classico region, producing only white wine.

Cultivation: Sustainable

Varietal: Verdicchio – an ancient grape ‘little green one’ named after the green color of the berries & the green tinges in the wine.

Soil: Sand, clay, Limestone

Winemaking: Manuel harvest, soft pressing, aging in stainless steel tanks
