Producer: A family run winery founded in 1879, current winemaker Walter Massa has been producing wine in the Colli Tortonesi since 1978, dedicated to the revival of the Timorasso grape & showcasing the distinct qualities of the region. He is known as ‘the guru of Timorasso’ leading its revival in 1987.
Place: The farm is located in Monleale, a hilltop town, its holdings are about 30 hectares in eight distinct vineyard areas on the hills around the town, in the Colli Tortonesi region of Eastern Piedmont.

Soil: Calcareous – Clay, chalk, stone, sand
Bottling: Derthona is the ancient name for Tortuna, the town in Southeast Piedmont after which the appellation Colli Tortonesi is named.
Winemaking: Fermentation with indigenous yeast, maceration with skins 40 hours, rested in stainless steel & concrete for 12 months, 6 months in bottle before release.
