Producer: Enoteca Bisson was founded by Pierluigi Lugano in 1978. He started as a wine merchant & sommelier, becoming an adventurous & innovative grower/winemaker, also working with local growers. He is renowned for reviving native Ligurian wines that were practically extinct & pioneering ancient & indigenous grape varieties.

Place: Pierluigi has purchased plots throughout the Cinque Terre & surrounding areas, cultivating vines on the steep rocky slopes of the Ligurian coastline, north-western Italy.

Grapes come from 2 vineyard plots – ‘Tenute di Trigoso’ in the hills of Sestri Levante & ‘Verici’ situated in the commune of Casarza Ligure.

Cultivation: Sustainable, this cuvee is limited in production as it is hard to produce.

Varietal: Pigato, an indigenous grape varietal to Liguria, a waxy yellow/amber, slightly speckled, the name comes from the ligurian dialect ‘picau’ or ‘pighe’ meaning speckled or freckles.

Soil: Rich in limestone, shale & sandstone

Winemaking: The grape clusters are handpicked, fermented & aged in stainless steel, bottled in the spring following the harvest.

Tasting Notes: Rich Texture – Herbaceous – Sea Salt & Minerals – Quince & Orchard Fruit
