Producer: Domaine Eden was developed by Tom Mudd in 1983 as Cinnabar Winery, in 2007 at Tom’s passing the winery was purchased by Mount Eden and is now under the Direct of Jeffery Patterson, with a focus on making wines that reflect the Santa Cruz mountains, from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay as well as Bordeaux varieties.
Place: A mountain top estate, in Santa Cruz Central Coast California.
Cultivation: Dry farming, sustainable.
Varietal: Pinot Noir – combining various clones: Dijon clones 777, 667, 828 & Calera, Swan.
Soil: Textured loam
Winemaking: Partial use of whole cluster (20%), natural fermentation, aged in French oak for 1 year, no fining or filtration before bottling.
