Producer: This historical winery was founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri, a grain merchant fascinated with Sangiovese. He acquired a working farmĀ  within eastern Montalcino, and began restoring the existing vines, planting new ones and growing the estate. Giacomo Neri took over production at the passing of his father in 1991, his eldest son, Giovani has joined him at the winery, while his younger son expanded the business into hospitality, with a 10 room farmhouse Relais. The estate holds 75 hectares of vines divided into 7 different plots, including prestigious sites such as Cerretalto, Le Cetine, Pietradonice & Podernuovo, putting them on the world map, they are renown for their single-vineyard Brunello.

Place: The estate is located in Fiesole, in the Montalcino region of Tuscany, Italy.

Farming: Certified organic, using a combination of ancient and modern methods.

Varietal: Sangiovese Grosso from cooler sites in the north-east of Montalcino

Soil: Limestone, clay, Galestro

Winemaking: Handpicked grapes, destemmed, spontaneous fermentation, aged for 43 months in Oak barrels, rested for 6 months in bottle before release.
