Producer: Jerry Bookwalter Launched his winery in 1982, in Richland, after managing several iconic vineyard sites in WA. His son John took over in the early 1990’s after a career in marketing, aided by consulting winemakers, Zelma Long, Claude Gros & now Cameron Parry. Jerry passed in 2023 & John continues to run the winery as president & winemaker, with 5 acres planted & 150 acres contracted.
Place: The estate is located in Richland, southeastern Washington, at the confluence of the Yakima and the Columbia Rivers.
Cultivation: Sustainable Farming
Varietal: This is a Bordeaux-style Red blend with Merlot 56%, Cabernet Sauvignon 32%, Petit Verdot 9%, Cabernet Franc 3%. Grapes are sourced from Dionysus & Conner-Lee Vineyards
Soil: Sandy Loam to Fine Sandy Loam
Winemaking: Ages for 20 months in French Oak, 70% new.
