Grower-Producer: Francis Egly, 4th generation of the Egly family, making Champagne from their old vine vineyards in the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay. By his marriage to Madame Ouriet, acquired more land including the parcel of Crayère where the vines are over sixty years old. He has become somewhat of a highly sought after ‘cult winemaker’, creating expressive, age-worthy, Pinot Noir based wines, with a focus on procucing single vineyards, emphazising each parcels unique terroir. His technique is to harvest the fruit only when ripe, they will be pressed whole cluster, fermented with indigenous yeast in oak barrels, low dosage.
Place: The estate is located in Ambonnay, with vines in Verzênay & Bouzy as well, in The Montagne de Reims subregion of Champagne.

Varietal: 70% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay from Grand Crus classified vines
Soil: Chalk based, sand , clay, marl
Winemaking: hand harvested, barrel fermented with indigenous yeast, lees aged for 4 years, with a dosage of 1g/L, based on the 2018 vintage, with 40% reserve wine back to 2016.
Tasting Notes: A balance of Power & Finesse with layers of Toasted Hazelnut, Grilled Citrus, Pear & Apricot.
