Producer: A Family estate run by 4th generation winemaker, Romain Guiberteau, taking over the management of his family vineyards in 1996, mentored by Nady Foucault of Clos Rougeard. His grandfather started the estate in the early 20th century, & then passed it to his son in law who purchased a large portion of the hill of Breze. Romain farms 12 hectares, 7 of which are in Breze, producing precise & elegant wines in a burgundian style.

Place: The family estate is located 12 kilometres south of  the town of Saumur, the grapes are from multiple plots in Montreuil-Bellay & the famed hill of Breze.

Farming: Certified Organic, permanent cover crop in between the rows.

Varietal: Cabernet Franc

Soil: Silt & sand over limestone bedrock

Winemaking: Pressed with whole cluster, fermentation with Ambient yeast, aged for 4-6 months in stainless steel tanks, no fining, light filtration.
