Producer: The Diochons had been making Cru Beaujolais the old fashioned way, producing solely this one bottling since 1935. Bernard Diochon at the helm in1960, he retired in 2007, appointing Thomas Patenotre to carry on these traditions.
Cuvee: Vieille Vigne ‘old vine’ this estate has vines averaging 50- 85 years of age.
Place: Moulin-à-Vent one of the 10 Crus, named after its old ‘Windmill’ Overlooking the vineyards, classified as a historical monument. It straddles the 2 communes of Romanèche-Thorins & Chénas. Known as one of the most age worthy Crus alongside Morgon (can age for a good 10 years)
Soil: Pink granite, sandstone, manganese- rich subsoil

Vinification: grapes undergo a semi-carbonic, whole cluster fermentation for 12 days, aging in large old oak foudres, bottling unfiltered with small amounts of sulfur.
