Producer: Domaine Saint Prefert was created in 1920, owned for 80 years by the Serre Family. Isabel Ferrando, a banker turned winemaker, acquired the domaine in 2002, made a name for herself making single-vineyard bottlings & as a ‘Grenachiste’ radical in this appellation. Starting with 13.2 hectares, she expanded the domain, in 2020 she started bottling under the name ‘Famille Isabel Ferrando’ in 2023, Guillemette, Isabel’s daughter, joined the winery.
Place: Grapes are from ‘Les Serres’ a single parcel south of the Châteauneuf du Pape commune in The Rhone Valley, Southeastern France.
Cultivation: Organic & Biodynamic
Varietal: Grenache 75%, Cincault 12%, Mourvedre 11%, Syrah 2%
Soil: Pebbles, blue clay, gravel & sand
Winemaking: Natural yeast, whole cluster fermentation, aged in concrete, and old oak for 18 months
