Producer: Domaine Saint Prefert was created in 1920, owned for 80 years by the Serre Family. Isabel Ferrando, a banker turned winemaker, acquired the domaine in 2002, made a name for herself making single-vineyard bottlings & as a ‘Grenachiste’ radical in this appellation. Starting with 13.2 hectares, she expanded the domain, in 2020 she started bottling under the name ‘Famille Isabel Ferrando’ in 2023, Guillemette, Isabel’s daughter, joined the winery.

Place: The Grapes are from a parcel named ‘La Lionne’ in the Sorgues district, at the Southern border of  the Châteauneuf du Pape commune in The Rhône Valley, Southeastern France.

Cultivation: Organic & Biodynamic

Varietal: 90% Grenache, 5% Syrah, 5% Cincault

Bottling: ‘Beatus Ille’ a latin phrase meaning ‘happy is the man’

Soil: Red clay & Pebbles

Winemaking: Fermented with natural yeast, aged in concrete for 6 months.
