2022 Ceritas, ‘Mindego Ridge’ Pinot Noir, Santa Cruz Mountains, CA

Producer: John Raytek with his wife Phoebe Bass, founded Ceritas in 2005, focusing on individual sites from the cool, coastal regions of West Coast Sonoma county & Santa Cruz mountains. They work with grower partners that share a commitment to organic & sustainable farming methods. 

Place: The Winery is situated in Healdsburg, the grapes for this bottling come from Mindego Ridge Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA, farmed by husband & wife team David & Stacey Gollnick.

Cultivation: Organic

Varietal: Pinot Noir from steep slopes & high elevation

Soil: Fractured shale subsoil covered with silty clay loam

Winemaking: Handharvest, whole cluster pressed, fermented  in 7-12 year old barrel, aged in barrel for 12 months on gross lees, rested in stainless steel for an additional 3-6 months before bottling.
